There are two paths to attain the position of Store Manager with Pikes Peak..
The first path involves moving up through the ranks, learning how we do things at Pikes Peak along the way. Naturally, a geographical re-location would probably be required at the point of graduation to the position of Store Manager. This path provides a perfect opportunity to assimilate the Pikes Peak culture and ethical standards in dealing with employees, suppliers and customers. We call it "The Pikes Peak Way" of doing business.
The second path is to join Pikes Peak as a person fully equipped with the leadership and experience in our industry required to manage a Pikes Peak store. Unless a Store Manager position happens to be open at the time a person applies, we would have to explore expansion possibilities that would be mutually satisfactory to the applicant and to the Company.
A brief job description of the position of Store Manager includes:
Set goals and budgets for the store annually and on interim basis as needed. Staff, direct, manage and control daily operations of the store. Work with Corporate Office to set budget for capital investments in fixed assets or leasehold improvements as may be required from time to time.
A Pikes Peak store's organization often requires two or more of the following positions to be assigned to the same person: Hard Goods Manager & Buyer, Perishables Buyer, Sales Manager, Store Manager, and Operations Manager.
Reports to directly to the President or his assigns.
